In Senegal, there are more women than men in the population, however there are more men in science fields than women. The female gender should be more present in scientific professions. Unfortunately, even if parity is more or less assured up to the baccalaureate, few girls choose to pursue scientific studies because of factors related to their legal, institutional, political and cultural environment. This creates a huge shortfall in the country's development. BPW Senegal is committed to attracting and retaining female talent in scientific fields in the form of a competition called "Girls Science".

BPW Senegal (Business and Professional Women) is an association affiliated with BPW International whose objective is to develop women's professional, business and leadership potential at all levels. It is ready to meet all the bets of its statutes which are essentially in line with one of the Sustainable Development Goals, the Education of Girls.  All of our activities will be supported by the pressing need for a culture of excellence among girls in the workplace.
