Key Information

The government-led programme ‘Rapariga Biz’ aims to transform secondary school girls into change agents in their communities. 

The first joint UN programme for adolescent girls in Mozambique, Rapariga Biz targets 1 million vulnerable adolescent girls on empowerment, sexual and reproductive health, leadership, citizenship and human rights with the goal to prevent child marriage and teenage pregnancy. Mozambique has made progress to empower girls and young women over the past decades, yet still
obstacles remain to reach national and global commitments. Many girls and young women are still subject to gross gender discrimination and inequalities that prevent them from reaching their and society ́s full potential.
