Key Information

Kenya has ratified key international conventions that promote the rights of children, youth and women. However, negative attitudes and perceptions continue to negate the gains towards empowerment of women, girls and the youth’s participation. Girl Child Network has designed and implemented interventions geared towards advancing gender equity, and participation of girls, boys, youth, women and men in all spheres of development. The Gender and Development Programme focuses on addressing issues on gender dynamics in the development of the girl child, boy child, youth, women and men. Among the gender issues we focus on are – gender, leadership development and gender-based violence.
