Key Information

OPDP through the support of its partners has been focusing on sensitization on reproductive health education and distribution of sanitary towels to in-school adolescent girls  from the minority and indigenous Ogiek community  both in primary and Secondary schools. The program commenced in 2015  targeting girls aged 10 - 19 years old and we have reached out to approximately 2500 girls in the three Counties including Nakuru, Narok, UasinGishu. 
The approaches we employ under the program includes:
-Capacity building through dissemination of an advocacy tool kit on menstrual hygiene and management  
- Advocacy among community leaders to generate support on Sexual Rights and Health Rights issues
- Creating spaces for learning and sharing 
- Peer-peer and inter-personal communication to promote role modeling 
- Community partnering and networking

Since the inception of the program, there has been increased transition of girls from primary to secondary and improved performances which bolster the realization of their dreams
