Key Information

The Government of Malawi, with support from UNICEF, runs the Secondary Education Trust and the international phase of the Funo Langa fundraising campaign. With this fund, 25 vulnerable students who previously dropped out of school are being re-admitted to school with scholarships provided by fellow Malawians. Funo Langa is also a fundraising campaign for the Girls Secondary Education Trust Fund. It was set up to provide access to quality education for vulnerable students (both girls and boys) in Malawi. The Trust brings together existing scholarship schemes run by different organisations, including UNICEF, and will mobilize additional financial and technical resources to help academically successful students from poor backgrounds finish their secondary education. The funds raised will be used to pay for full school fees as well as school uniforms, school bags, sanitary pads, and stationery.
