Key Information

COVID-19 lockdown measures led to school closures around the world. This highlighted the urgent need for more resilient, digital-first education systems that enable students to learn from home. Vodafone Foundation has been providing support to students and education systems via:

- Zero rating educational sites and donating devices in response to COVID-19

- Parterning with Perlego to offer free access to a library of over 300,000 digitical text books for students

- Providing free educational resources to 1.6 million learners across Africa through Vodacom e-school and Vodafone Foundation's Instant Schools

- Supporting 360,000 subscribers in 66 institutes in Tanzania and South Africa through Connected Education solution

- Expanding Instant Network Schools program to support 500,000 refugee students and commuities by 2025 in partnership with UNHCR
