Key Information

Ireland's aid programme has been providing bursary support through civil society organisations to facilitate access to secondary education for girls and other vulnerable children in Zambia. The children mainly attend community schools. Through a partnership with a local civil society organisation, Zambia Open Community Schools, Ireland funds 200 orphaned and vulnerable boys and girls in Central, Southern, and Lusaka Provinces to attend school. The Keep Girls in School bursary also offers direct support to 89,000 vulnerable girls and women in rural Zambia.
