Key Information

Girls and women social economic empowerment programmes are age approppriate, rights based and cultural sensitive in nature. The key strategies applied include: community sesnitizations and awareness campigns on girls and women rights, key stakeholdersand and duty bearer trainings, advocacy and policy influienicng, collaborations, networking and building partnerships, and role modeling. Some of the key interventions undertaken include: addressing issues of gender and education, promoting sexual health of young people and girls including sexual reproductive health rights (SRHR) awareness, self awareness, reducing female genital mutiliation, sexuality education and addressing child and early marriage issues. This program also connects girls with various institutions for post primary and secondary school support, enhances women and girls' participation in political leadership and decision making, educates women on their rights, supports community structures for child protection, and providing scholarships to enable vulnerable children access basic education.
