Key Information

This project aims at improving SRHR outcomes for girls and young children in Kajiado County. We have reached 550 school going girls in our activities to promote SRHR of girls and young women through provision of sexuality education, with a focus on gender sensitive approaches. We have engaged 21 stakeholders in Kajiado County, drawn from CSOs and County Government officials in the Ministry of gender, health and education. Through this project, we have mobilized male champions to take the lead in awareness raising and behavioural change to eradicate gender based violence that is rampant in Kajiado county. We have created an enabling environment through advocating for policies and legislations that promote the realization of the SRHR of girls and young women in Kajiado County and strengthened the Gender and Education TWGs at the County level to support in addressing barriers to girls’ education in the County. Further, we have been actively engaged in county policy advocacy forums to review laws that contribute towards gender sensitive planning and budgeting.
