Key Information

Our mission at greenlight for girls (g4g) is to encourage girls of all ages and backgrounds to consider STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) -related careers by introducing them to the world of science in fun and exciting ways. We envision a balanced world where girls (and boys) from any nation and of any age know they have the possibility and choice to enter the world of STEM.  We achieve this by holding interactive virtual and in-person educational events of all sizes showing the link of STEM to all careers. Our signature activity – g4g Day – is a free, one-day, girl-focused event to show the fun in STEM through hands-on workshops run by role-models in those fields. Additionally, we collaborate with schools to help further hands-on afterschool science learning and advise on STEM curriculum. Other programming includes: g4g Design Hackathon events; g4g Broadcast; an online science resource portal; and, a new laboratory space so g4g’s experiential learning methods can be brought into the classrooms or homes for augmented learning after-school.

Since our inception in 2010, we have engaged 53,000 students working with 12,000-plus volunteer role models at over 410 in-person and virtual, hands-on events worldwide in 101 cities and 34 countries on six continents; and, curated partnerships with scores of Fortune 500 companies.
