Key Information

The Australian Government is committed to supporting Fiji. It works in close partnership with the Fijian Government and key stakeholders to deliver its aid program to support inclusive economic growth and reduce poverty. Australia provides, on average, AUD35 million per year in bilateral development assistance to a number of sectors, including health, education and private sector development. To increase the efficiency, effectiveness and coherence of Australia’s aid program, in 2017 the Fiji Program Support Facility (FPSF) was established to administer the education, health and scholarship programs in Fiji (and scholarships in Tuvalu). These programs represent one-third of Australia’s annual bilateral aid to Fiji, amounting to AUD66 million over five years (2017-2021). The Facility, managed by Coffey on behalf of the Australian Government, also supports the integration of crosscutting themes into programs, such as gender equality, civil society engagement, disability inclusiveness, child protection, and disaster risk reduction.
